I don’t usually have prepared slides for the message, so more than anything I use the Bible tab during the preaching. I tend to prefer having more on the main auditorium screen, but that creates problems when you try to create a lower third overlay with the live stream, because you have too much text to fit legibly in that small of a space. The one thing that I wish I had done better the first time was to make the song slides with less text per slide. I spent some time setting up a theme for my song slides so that they are consistently formatted and such.
I also finish each song with a blank slide so that the final tradition works like I want to to, and also so that I can wait to transition away from that background at a better time, but still not have lyrics hanging out on the screen the whole time. It also allows me to bring up the background and then use transitions or builds in and out for the text, rather than a cut transition to the slides with text. It is the slide that has the Media background, any macros, Looks, or other automations attached to it. My presentations for music all begin with a title slide set that has the first slide blank.
There a few things that I have done that have worked out well for me.
